I believe that healthy singing is of the greatest importance when pursuing voice. Healthy singing is developed from sound vocal technique achieved from training and practice. Developing the ability to sing with proper technique will strengthen the voice and contribute to vocal longevity – allowing the singer to use their gift to the best of their ability.
In addition to the importance of healthy singing and proper technique; vocal expression, repertoire knowledge and stage presence are essential in voice performance. The ability to convey a message and move the listener through the expressive quality of the voice and performance makes singers shine and stand out from the rest.
My base of study is utilizing classical technique. Classical technique is important for those pursuing classical voice in addition to those pursuing musical theater, pop, and jazz. Through classical technique, the singer will learn proper breath support and healthy vocal production that can be applied to any type of singing.
